Welcome to The Pilates House Library!
Start here, to get you set up for success while practicing Pilates online. Come back to these often, practice them when you can (throughout your class is the best time!) + don't be put off if you don't get them right away - it all takes a little time + practice, so be patient, consistent, + you'll get there, promise!
A few extra things to note:
- You should not feel any pain in your joints while practicing Pilates. If you do, please come out of that movement, rest, reset, + try again if you feel comfortable to do so. Otherwise, skip that movement for now. If pain persists, please see your physiotherapist or other health care professional.
- Not all movements are suitable for pregnancy. Watch for any forward flexion (think ab curls), front lying (often can be done on the knees), + back lying (however, we aren't on our backs for too long so if you feel comfortable, + you've spoken with your healthcare professional, you can go ahead + do these movements).
